The location of the Bank was based on thorough examination of historic information, hydrogeomorphic site modeling, and current site conditions. The Bank is situated within the rural Eel River Township, just northwest of one of the fastest growing regions in northeastern Indiana. The development of a mitigation bank in this area will help to meet the increasing need for suitable wetland mitigation, provide a significant water quality benefit to the Eel and St. Joseph River Watersheds, and further protect the Huntertown aquifer system.
